NICE TO MEET YOU!

My name is Arielle Pickett and my pronouns are (they/them)

I am from the U.S Virgin Islands. From a young age, sports, art, and design consumed my life. This passion followed me into my adulthood, as I graduated with a Bachelor in Art in graphic design from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida in 2014.

As a young designer in the workforce, I moved in with my grandmother in South Florida, taking advantage of her great cooking and free rent. After interning for small firms, I worked as senior designer at Valley Forge Fabrics, which allowed me the space and creativity to hone my talents as a designer and leader.

Meanwhile, I still had sneakers on my mind, and in the summer of 2016 I told my family that I was leaving my stable career to follow my childhood dream.  In ten days, I sold 99% of my shoe collection to fund the journey, packed up my dog, and drove 3000 miles to the Pacific Northwest. I was hired at the Nike’s Employee store as back of the house staff, which I had hoped would get my foot in the door. After over 50 meetings and 30 declined applications, I enrolled in Pensole’s Color and Materials course to give me a competitive edge. Four days after the course ended, my hard work paid off and I was hired by Nike.

Since then, I have worked in Men’s Air Max, Women’s sportswear, Women’s Sport Style Innovation,Classics and currently Jordan Brand. By taking advantage of every opportunity, I have skills in materials stretches, graphics, strategy, color lead on multiple billion dollar franchises, being offered and accepting the role as creative lead for Be True 2022, countless mentorship programs, and so much more. I’m ready and eager to take the next step in my career and expand my knowledge and experiences in design and i’m excited to see what the future holds
